A Vintage Doobies Line-Up is Finally Coming to Mohegan Sun
Have you ever heard Michael McDonald sing in person? I got you hear his beautiful voice in 2010 in Danbury when The Dukes of September rocked the Ives Concert Park.
Donald Fagan and Boz Scaggs were great, but McDonald brought the house down. That voice has been a constant on the soundtrack of my life, and to hear the opening line of 'Takin' it To the Streets' -'You don't know me, but I'm your brother...I was raised here in this living hell'.. In person? I'm still getting goosebumps, just from typing it. McDonald was with Boz and Donald when I heard it, but as of 2019, McDonald is back with the Doobie Brothers. The Doobies are playing a show in Connecticut soon, at one of our greatest treasures.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Doobie Brothers (Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons, and John McFee) are going back out on the road this Summer as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Mohegan Sun has just announced that the Doobies are going to be playing Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 7:30PM. Tickets range from $60-130, and they're going on sale Friday, March 10 on ticketmaster.com, and they'll be available at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office the following day, Saturday March 11.
This 50th Anniversary show was originally scheduled for July 2, 2020 at the Arena, but we all know what happened during the Spring of 2020. Technically, it's still being billed as the Doobie's 50th Anniversary Tour, but it's really their 53rd anniversary as a band.
