Stop Right There! ‘Bat Out of Hell’ Composer Jim Steinman’s Ridgefield Home is Up for Sale
If you're a rock music lover, you know the name Jim Steinman, who's written some of the most recognizable songs in music history, including Meatloaf's 1977 debut album, Bat Out of Hell. Steinman's home is now on the market where he wrote a number of rock & roll's most unforgettable songs that included the album, Bat Out of Hell.
Unfortunately, both the writer and the performer have left our world. I can only imagine that Steinman continues to write songs for the greats who now call rock n' roll heaven their home. Of course, I'm talking about rock's elite such as Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, David Bowie, and John Lennon, to name a few.
Steinman passed away on April 19, 2021, and we lost Meatloaf( Marvin Lee Aday) on January 20, 2022. The two met at The Public Theater in New York City in 1973 when Meatloaf auditioned for a musical Steinman had written called, More Than You Deserve. They became fast friends and remained so for the next 50 years. Here is the legendary 1977 performance of 'Paradise By the Dashboard Lights' featuring Meatloaf and Ellen Foley.
