A Taste of Louisiana Comes to Connecticut
I love when we get restaurants inspired by other places. Are there any Connecticut-inspired places around the country? Probably not. I'm not sure what we would even really be inspired by anyways. We're overshadowed by New York which would probably be the closest. Maybe New Haven pizza, but even that it's usually New York style pizza.
I will always gladly talk about new businesses opening and even more so ones that are inspired by other places around the country. I get so excited when people choose to have Connecticut as one of their locations in a growing brand because they know our state will give it a go. Places like this are so cool because if you're unable to ever make it to the state they represent, you'll still be able to experience a little bit of the culture and what their food is like.

A taste of NOLA has entered Connecticut and I couldn't be more excited. The Southern Classic Daiquiri Factory has officially opened in Bridgeport and it's giving all of the Bourbon Street vibes. Not only do they have a bunch of daiquiris, but they have an extensive menu of all Louisiana-inspired foods where the menu "pays homage to the diverse culinary traditions of Louisiana."
The Bridgeport location is their first in Connecticut and only their 4th overall. Their other locations are in St. Louis, Dallas, and Fort Worth. They have an entire menu dedicated to daiquiris that include multiple flavors and you can get multiple sizes including a daiquiri flight, a half gallon and two half gallon (wow). Their food menu has a bit of everything ranging from Pasta, Boudin, Gumbo, Crawfish Etouffee, Alligator Bites, Catfish, Red Beans & Rice, and more.
They officially opened their doors full time on February 7 and are located at 997 Main Street in Bridgeport. I definitely need to make my way over at some point. It looks like it's going to be amazing!
