Free Fireworks Show Returning to Candlewood Lake in Danbury
According to a release from the City of Danbury, one of the area's most anticipated summer traditions is right around the corner. The annual fireworks celebration at Candlewood Lake is set to return, giving residents another opportunity to gather with friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate both Independence Day and America's 250th anniversary.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, at Candlewood Lake Town Park in Danbury and promises to offer much more than just fireworks. Organizers are planning an evening filled with live entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities before the night sky lights up over Connecticut's largest lake.
The festivities will get underway when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. Live music begins at 6 p.m. with Junk taking the stage to provide the soundtrack for the evening. Guests will also be able to enjoy food from local vendors while finding the perfect spot to settle in for the fireworks show later in the night.
Of course, the main attraction is the fireworks display itself, which is scheduled to begin at dusk. Every year, the show draws large crowds to the lakefront, and city officials expect another strong turnout this time around.
The best part? Admission is completely free, making it one of the most affordable ways for families to celebrate the holiday season together.
If you're planning to attend, officials are reminding visitors to be patient and plan ahead. Heavy traffic is expected in and around Candlewood Lake Town Park before and after the event. Anyone heading to the celebration should allow extra travel time and be prepared to follow directions from police officers and other public safety personnel working the event.
If you're looking for a classic summer evening in Danbury, complete with live music, food, community spirit, and fireworks over the water, this annual tradition is shaping up to be another memorable night on Candlewood Lake.
