I was driving though Town Plot in Waterbury over the weekend, and I noticed that there is a new place called Commissioner's Cigar Lounge on Fairfield Avenue across from Dollar General. My friend Phil loves the place, but driving by made me sad.

Why? Because I really liked Heavenly Pizza. Granted, the pizza wasn't the best, but the people who ran and owned it were so nice. Town Plot itself has remained pretty much the same since I was a kid in the 70's, but there has been so much change in businesses over the past decade.

Town plot IGA is now known as Key Foods, Rite Aid finally got a much needed makeover in the past few years, and jeez, the corner of Fairfield Ave and Wesley Street is unrecognizable from just a few years ago. I went into Google Maps and got a few pics that will stir your memories, and show you how much has changed in our neighborhood.
