Is the Food Emporium ever going to open up in Brookfield's Four Corners neighborhood? I've been keeping an eye out for progress, and this morning I noticed a beautiful Red Fox has moved in to keep our neighborhood safe while we wait.

I pretty much have Federal Road to myself at 4:55AM, but not today. As I was making my way down to the Dunkin, which is right by the nice new park, (Nice job Brookfield, seriously) I saw a flash of red and white run up to the side of the road where the old, old, Dunkin' used to be. It was a Red Fox, and as I slowed down, it started crossing the road right in my headlights. Here's a couple of zoomed in pics -

It's the first time that I've seen a Red Fox in decades, although they are widespread and abundant across Connecticut, according to ct.gov. Red Foxes can weight between 7-15 pounds, measure between 39 and 43 inches long, and prefer a mix of forest and open field. The new Emporium lot has been graded and mostly vacant for quite a while now, it's a perfect breeding ground for vermin, and a perfect hunting ground for the Red Fox, so the buffet is officially open.

It's interesting to note that according to ct.gov, Coyotes are the Red Fox's main predator in Connecticut, and they will not tolerate a fox's presence within their territory. Good news Brookfield, the coyotes haven't found us yet.

Top 6 Reasons For an Argument on CT's Candlewood Lake

Candlewood Lake is a glorious place to be on a Saturday or Sunday during the summer. You get to look at the rolling hills, soak in the sun and relax. If relaxing is not your jam you can do some water sports or just bug-out (my favorite). Candlewood Lake is popular for a reason it's a lot of fun. However, just like any place the vibe can be ruined by certain behaviors. Some might say, what is there to argue about? Here are 6 things I've seen people argue over on Candlewood Lake.
