They call it 'State Championship Weekend' as all of the Spring High School sports conclude with State Championship games tonight and tomorrow. This year six local teams from area High School's will have their chance to capture state titles.

In Boy's Baseball, the Ridgefield Tigers will try and win their first ever Class LL State Championship as they take on the Cheshire Rams. Ridgefield comes into the game with a record of 20-4, and are making their very first appearance in a State Championship game. The contest takes place Saturday at noon at Palmer Field in Middletown.

In Girls Softball, the Brookfield Bobcat's (20-3) will be vying for their 2nd Class L State title, (first one was back in 2000), as they take on the undefeated Masuk Panthers, who are 23-0 and going for a perfect season. The game takes place tonight (Friday) at 7 pm at West Haven High School.

In Class L Boys Lacrosse the Ridgefield Tigers are represented, but they'll have their work cut out for them as they take on the undefeated Darien Blue Wave. Darien is trying to capture their 14th title and their 5th consecutive title in a row. The game takes place Saturday at 3:30 pm at Brien McMahon HS in Norwalk.

In Class M Boys Lacrosse the New Fairfield Rebels put their undefeated record on the line and try to capture their first State title since 2008 as they face off against Daniel Hand (14-5) at Brien McMahon HS in Norwalk, game time on Saturday is 10 am.

As far as Girls Lacrosse goes, in the Class L finals the Ridgefield Tigers are represented again, and are trying for their first ever State Title. They'll face the New Canaan Rams who are trying for their 6th title in the last 8 years. Game time is 10 am Saturday morning at Jonathan Law HS.

Finally in Girls Class S Lacrosse, the New Fairfield Rebels will try and repeat as State Champs as they take on the East Catholic Eagles. Game time is 12:15 pm Saturday at Jonathan Law HS.
