One of the top ten best things about living in New England is you can always find a restaurant that serves up a delicious creamy clam filled New England Clam Chowder. Because this unique soup is in such high demand throughout the northeast every year, Connecticut hosts an event called 'Chowdafest' at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

'Rosy Tomorrows' has been one of Danbury's signature eateries for the last 30 plus years serving up everything from their HUGE variety of burgers to their Aged Oven Prime Rib. Their home-made soups are well-known throughout New England especially Rosy's 'signature' Fisherman's Chowder made New England-style with shrimp, clams, and crab. It's almost a meal all by itself.

Stew Leonard's
With seven stores between Connecticut and New York, Stew Leonard's has been a grocery store destination for thousands of shoppers since they built their very first store in Norwalk in December of 1969. All of their bakery and food buffet items are handmade with care inside their stores every day including their homemade soups which include their scrumptious New England Clam Chowder which is available every single day!

Mothership Bakery and Cafe
Also known as the 'Mothership-On-Main' this new unique eatery sits on Main St. in Danbury across the street from the stylish new 'Kennedy Flats Apartments.' The atmosphere is casual and everything is homemade from their bakery items to their paninis, specialty sandwiches, and mouth-watering soups. Their New England Clam Chowder is a specialty menu item so make sure to ask for it when you arrive. Mindy and I have enjoyed many a breakfast and lunch at the Mothership. All I can say is, "GO THERE."

Jim Barberies
Jim Barberies has been serving great food that's reasonably priced from beef to chicken and seafood to burgers since 1961 on Padanaram Rd. which makes Barberies another legendary dining destination in the greater Danbury area. If you're in the mood for an awesome bowl of authentic New England Clam Chowder, Barberies makes one of the best cream based chowders in the state which includes potatoes, celery, onions, and herbs along with a large dose of fresh clams.

Biksbees Eatery
This casual eatery on Greenwood Ave. in Bethel specializes in deli sandwiches, tasty wraps, and delicious paninis and rates a 4/5 on Yelp. Not only are you able to order up a bowl of their 'New England's Best Clam Chowder' but they go deep with their homemade soups. They also offer up an amazing 'Butternut Squash' soup along with 'Chicken Noodle' and a too-die-for 'Brocolli Cheddar' soup.
