The Great Connecticut Thaw: Signs That Spring Is On The Way
As I get older, the more crochety I become about Connecticut winters. I can't believe I'm saying this, but next year could be the year that Mindy and I decide to rent a condo in Florida. (Florida You Say) I can't believe I just said that.

As February fades and March arrives, Connecticut enters one of its most transitional weather periods of the year. It’s not quite winter, not fully spring — it’s the great seasonal in-between.
Let's Get Right To It - CT's Long Range 2026 Spring Forecast
According Climavision.com, short-term weather forecasts (1–3 days) are highly accurate, with temperature predictions often within 1–2 degrees and rainfall amount within a few tenths of an inch. Long-term seasonal forecasts (weeks to months) remain more challenging but have also improved.
With that said, the Weather Channel.com has posted its Greater Danbury daily forecasts for March and April. From 3/1 -3/7, temps will remain in the low to mid-30's with maybe a flurry or two.
From 3/8 - 3/14, we'll see the temps rise into the upper 30's and from 3/15 - 3/21, we'll finally reach into the mid 40's and those temps will stick around through the end of March.
Here Come the 60's!!!
By April, things start behaving a little better. Trees begin budding, lawns turn green, and Candlewood Lake slowly shakes off winter’s grip. The first two weeks of April begin to warm up into the mid to upper 50's and then from 4/12 through 4/30, we'll feel the warmth of the sun as it climbs into the mid to upper 60's!! SPRING IS BACK BABY!!
