How To Apply for Tornado & Macroburst Disaster Assistance in CT
Governor Daniel Malloy announced today that the Federal Government has approved his request for disaster assistance after the tornadoes and macrobursts which struck the area on May 15, 2018.
The counties of Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex and New Haven can now apply for loans of up to $200,000 from the Small Business Administration to help with both physical and economic devastation. Homeowners and renters can apply for up to $40,000 for personal property. If your business's working capital funds suffered, Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available even if there was no physical damage to the business property.
The Small Business Administration also has a Customer Service Center that you can call at 1-800-659-2955, if you are hearing impaired call 1-800-877-8339.

You must get the physical property damage in by December 10, 2018. The economic injury applications is due by July 9, 2019. If you need help with the application, The Small Business Administration has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center from October 11 through October 18 at the Southbury Training School, 1461 South Britain Road in Southbury. The hours are as follows:
- Thursday, October 11- 11AM to 6PM
- Friday, October 12- 9AM to 6PM
- Saturday, October 13- 10AM to 2PM
- Sunday, October 14- Closed
- Monday, October 15- 9AM to 6PM
- Tuesday, October 16- 9AM to 6PM
- Wednesday, October 17- 9AM to 6PM
- Thursday, October 18- 9AM to 4PM
