Three of the Best Seasonal Holiday Snacks Made in Connecticut
Here we are, a week away from Thanksgiving and the Official start to the 2024 Holiday Season, are you ready to pack on those extra pounds? Need a suggestion for a locally-made snack to bring to your party? Here are three seasonal snacks made right here in Connecticut that you should try out.
I picked up a bag each of Chocolate Candy Cane and White Chocolate Marshmallow-flavored popcorn from Danbury's Lesser Evil at Big Y over the weekend. These limited-edition popcorns are only here for the 2024 holiday season, and they're both delicious. I housed the whole bag of White Chocolate Marshmallow in one sitting, the popcorn is so fresh, it's light and airy, Lesser Evil makes some of the finest popcorn in the world.
Arethusa Farm in Litchfield/Bantam has just released their seasonal Eggnog for the 2024 Holiday season. Arethusa's eggnog is not cheap, but it's worth every penny. The bottle I got at Bantam Market set us back $17, but you get what you pay for. Arethusa produces some of the best dairy products in the world from their herd of the best dairy cows in the world, one of which is featured on the 2024 eggnog.
Munson's Chocolates, which started in Manchester in 1946, has a seasonal Connecticut Wine Trail Chocolate Truffle collection for sale at their retail stores. Each truffle has been infused with wine from four Connecticut vineyards: Bishop's Orchards in Guilford, Jonathon Edwards in North Stonington, Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, and Sharpe Hill Vineyards in Pomfret.
