This is the Last Week We Will See Evening Sunlight in Connecticut in 2024
I find myself saying, "how is it already November?" Not literally, but we're about to be there. I feel like this year has flown by, just like all of the other years. As we get older, I feel like the years are going faster and faster.
I love fall, but I don't think it is long enough. There's one official sign for me that recognizes that fall is officially over. It may not actually be on the calendar, but to me, it's the official sign of winter. This weekend, we will experience yet another daylight savings. The clocks will get pushed back and we will gain an extra hour. While some people love the extra hour of sleep, I dread the thought of losing an hour of sunlight.

Daylight savings is taking place this Sunday, November 3. This Saturday, we will see our last sunset that takes place after 5 PM for the rest of the year. After that, it's just going to get earlier and earlier. I don't know about you, but this completely throws off my day. I don't like sitting at work in the pitch black when it feels like 9 PM and it's only 5.
Come November 3, sunset will take place at 4:41 PM and from there it just gets earlier. By November 30, sunset will take place at 4:21 and by December, we will start seeing darkness by 4:20 PM.
I know there was talks about daylight savings going away in Connecticut, but the bill never passed. If it were up to me, I would let this daylight savings run its course, and once we change the clocks ahead in the spring, I would keep them like that for good. I'm not one for the early darkness.
