Most of us would agree that 2020 has been a giant bucket of yuck. Sometimes a small glimmer of hope is all that a nation needs to pull itself out of despair and McDonald's is trying to provide that glimmer.

The McRib is coming back for the first time in eight years. Rejoice y'all, it's happening, everything is happening. In a press release on the company's website posted on Friday (10/30/20) McDonald's representatives announced the return of the legendary sandwich to its menu starting December 2 for a limited time only.

Vice President of Menu Innovation, Linda VanGosen, had this to say about the nationwide roll-out:

There’s nothing quite like the taste of the McRib. To our customers, it’s become more than a delicious, saucy moment… it’s a season, and it’s taking the internet by storm. That’s why this year, we’re proud to serve the McRib nationwide for everyone to enjoy.

The announcement rocked the internet and sent McRib fans everywhere into a tweet storm.

Just one order of business before we get rolling on this, do we pronounce McRib the way it was intended to be pronounced or like the super fan/viral sensation from California?

It's time to get our meat freak on in a big way. I'll see you at the drive-thru, I'll be the one in the mini-van trying to hear the woman on the loud speaker while my children shout their orders at me, even though I know them by heart.
