Star of Hit Netflix Show Virgin River Has Roots in Bridgeport, CT

We all have shows we love to watch with our significant other and shows we “allow” each other to watch without the other one cozied up next to us on the couch.  One such show my girl watches is Virgin River on Netflix.

As I walked past the other night and glanced at the screen, she told me season 4 just came out on Netflix this Wednesday (7/21) and she was happy to have something new to watch.  I remarked that the actress looked incredibly familiar, and asked where I’d seen her before.  Jen mentioned some shows/movies Alexandra Breckenridge is associated with:  This Is Us (Sophie), The Walking Dead (Jessie), Family Guy (lots of different voices on 65 episodes!), American Horror Story (Young Moira), True Blood (Katerina) to name a few.  The list goes on but you get the point.

Many of you have seen her on your TV screen and some of you may have even caught a glimpse of her around Bridgeport when she was a wee little one!  That’s right, Alexandra has Bridgeport roots!  According to Wiki she was born in Bridgeport and lived in Darien until 10 years of age.  She moved with her mother to California where they moved around a bit and wound up settling in Mill Valley. Here she is with the rest of the cast of Netflix's Virgin River.

It’s no surprise she wound up being a star as at age 13, she became interested in acting, photography, and singing, and at the age of 15, she moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.  All the work paid off as she is now clearly a big star who currently resides with her husband and children in Georgia when she’s not on set.  She speaks fondly of Connecticut and told the CT Insider,

“After living in Los Angeles 20 some-odd years when I wanted to have children, I really wanted them to grow up with that kind of rural experience I’d had in Connecticut, playing in the woods and bicycling to see friends.”
