Beloved Medical Comedy ‘Scrubs’ Making a Comeback: Will You Tune-In?
I gotta tell ya, the cast of Scrubs is lookin' good considering the show originally aired for 9 seasons from October 2nd, 2001, to March 17, 2010. The medical comedy/drama ran on NBC for its first seven seasons before moving to ABC for its final two seasons. Today.com has announced that the series revival will premiere on ABC on February 25, 2026.
Who Was Your Favorite Character?
If you grew up watching Scrubs, this comeback feels less like a TV announcement and more like a reunion with old friends you haven’t seen since flip phones were a thing. Zach Braff (J.D.) and Donald Faison (Turk), still best buds in real life, along with Sarah Chalke (Elliot), had all publicly expressed interest in returning to Sacred Heart Hospital in some capacity, whether for a limited series, a reunion special, or a streaming revival.
The timing makes sense. In today’s television landscape, nostalgic reboots are thriving, especially on streaming platforms where classic series often find new audiences. Scrubs has remained popular through reruns and streaming, introducing the show to younger viewers who never experienced its original run on network TV.
The Biggest Names You Might Not Remember
What made Scrubs stand out then — and what could make it successful again — was its ability to balance laugh-out-loud comedy with deeply emotional storylines. Episodes frequently tackled real medical challenges, friendship, loss, and growth in ways that resonated beyond the typical sitcom format.
The nine-episode revival series will premiere on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Feb. 25. Episodes will also stream on Hulu the day after they air.
