
Only 4 States Have Better Dental Health Than Connecticut in 2025
Keep smiling Connecticut, according to a new study we have the fifth best dental health in all of the United States for 2025.
Think about this for a moment: More of your neighbors are flossing, brushing, and especially keeping up with their dental appointments in Connecticut than 45 other states in the US. WalletHub.com has just released States with the Best & Worst Dental Health (2025) and Connecticut has landed near the top of the rankings. In order to determine where people have the best and worst dental health in the US, WalletHub.com compared the 50 states across two key dimensions: Dental Habits & Health, and Oral Health. Those dimensions were then evaluated using 25 relevant metrics, including share of adults and children who visited a dentist in the past year, dental treatment costs, dentists per capita, share of adult smokers, share of elderly population with no natural teeth, pain due to oral condition, and work absence due to oral condition, among the 25.

Overall, WalletHub.com's study has placed Connecticut at #5 for 2025, and we came out near the top in a few of the metrics. For Oral Care, Connecticut was ranked at #3, and was ranked #11 in Dental Habits & Care for 2025. Connecticut has the highest percentage of adults who visited a dentist in the past year in all of the US, landing at #1.
Why didn't Connecticut make a clean sweep across the board as best? The cost of services, it's more expensive to see a dentist in New England than anywhere else in the US, with Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire all tied for last place. Connecticut also has the second lowest percentage of adult smokers in the US for 2025, and the lowest percentage of adults who experienced oral pain in the past year.
