Newtown Police Seek Witnesses to Fatal January Motorcycle Crash
If you were driving in the Newtown area the afternoon of Jan. 19, the Newtown police might want to talk to you, but why?
It's nearly impossible to hear the news and not hear about a motorcycle crash. Since the start of 2017, three fatal ones have occurred in Newtown alone. Police there still need help in regards to an incident that happened on Jan. 19, 2017.
The incident, as reported by newtownbee.com claimed the like of 42 year old Michael Defusco of Southbury. Defusco was riding a 2011 Harley-Davidson Street Glide on Mt Pleasant Road, in the area between its intersections with Mt Pleasant Terrace and Reservoir Road, when, for some reason, the motorcycle struck the guardrailing. Sadly he was found dead down an embankment nearby.
In a press release from the Newtown Police Department, the third release looking for witnesses, states that they are still actively investigating a fatal motor cycle accident that occurred on January 19th, 2017 at about 2:58 p.m. The Department is seeking any potential witnesses and or people arriving on scene shortly after the accident occurred.
If anyone has any information related to this accident please contact Officer Lorancaitis 24/7 at 203-426-5841.
Hopefully getting this information out there will spark a memory and someone else will come forward with further information about the incident.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the loved ones of Mr. Defusco.
And while May is Motorcycle Safety Month, please be safe out there every moment of every day.
