Starbucks on East Main Street in the heart of downtown Waterbury gained a new, local coffee shop/internet cafe competitor today, as Spirit Cafe officially opened it's doors and celebrated it's Grand Opening at 103 Bank Street. It's located in the long vacant space right next to where the old Braza/92 Bank Bistro used to be, across from the Waterbury Regional Chamber Building. The stretch of Bank Street used to hum on the days that the Brass City Harvest set up their farmer's market, but it's going to be filled up with the sweet smells of strong coffee and pastries now.

The interior of the Cafe looks very open, and bright, from the photos that they've posted to their social media. The menu features a vast array of beverages, including cafe classics like the Americano, Cappuccino, Espresso, Lattes, Macchiatos, Mochas, Hot Chocolate, Cold Brew, and Nitro Cold Brew. They will also serve specialty drinks like the Almond Joy Latte, Dulce De Cafe, COCO Mat Latte, and the Toasted Nilla Latte. The teas that they will offer include the bard Tempest, Ginger, jasmine, Earl Grey, China Green, Egyptian Chamomile, and Passion Fruit.

Spirit Cafe will also offer daily Puerto Rican inspired pastries and desserts, and on their everyday menu, they will offer a variety of cookies, like the oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Chip, S'mores, and Salted Caramel. Pastries, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and a bunch of muffins, like the Banana Nut, Blueberry, Corn, Pumpkin, and the classic Coffee Cake. Plus they just posted a beautiful photo of a decadent Flan that made me drool.

Spirit Cafe will be open Monday to Friday from 8AM to 7PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 6PM
