One-of-a-Kind Restaurant Named Most Unusual in Connecticut

I love when restaurants stand out by being different. You have your basic restaurants that have great food and I will always appreciate those, but the ones that stand out and are a bit different make me appreciate them 10x more.

When I saw that Love Food came out with a list of the most unusual restaurants in each state, I was trying to think about what Connecticut's could be before actually seeing it. I thought it was going to be Cava in Southington due to all of their decorations. I guess it's not actually unusual, it's more so just different, but that was the first thing to pop into my mind.

So that got me thinking, what is Connecticut's most unusual restaurant? As I was scrolling to look, I got so excited. I have never heard of this place before. I'm not sure if I live under a rock or if it's not a very well known thing around here? But this sounds like the perfect place for me. As an avid book lover, I'm pretty ecstatic.

Connecticut's most unusual restaurant is the Traveler Restaurant in Union, CT. The blurb is what got me extremely excited. Apparently you're eating surrounded by book shelves filled with paperback books. Also, you get to take home a book with you after your meal. What?? Why did I not know about this?

This is literally such a cute idea and now I need to go. They also have an extensive menu. There is a separate breakfast menu that has omelets, entrees and breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Their regular menu has everything ranging from salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, entrees, etc. It's rumored that their desserts are to die for as well.

Okay now that I know this exists, I will be going. If you're looking for a fun book breakfast or dinner, you can catch them at 1257 Buckley Highway I-84, Union, CT. It looks like they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays but open until 8 every other day of the week.
