Lucky Dogs, Beer, and Live Music This Weekend at Mill River Park in Stamford
Before it gets too cold, we need to squeeze in as much outside time as we possibly can and while we are at it, how about a little fundraiser for a good cause?
When I lived in Kansas, I adopted a pit-bull mix named "Kermit" and he was one of the most amazing dogs I have been around. He is a success story behind a "no-kill" shelter in Southeast Kansas called ACARF, Allen County Animal Rescue Facility.
This weekend a no-kill shelter in Stamford called "Lucky Dog" will host a fundraiser this Saturday, October 15th at Mill River Park. According to The Patch, "Luckypawlooza" (see what they did there?), will bring together some live music, a beer garden, food trucks, games for the kids and adults, a silent auction, local vendors, and lots of nonprofits. The music is from Blame It On The Dog, a reggae band from Norwalk, and the beer garden is provided by The Blind Rhino.
How cool is this? Stroll around, take in some cool tunes and maybe provide a forever home for a fur baby. Rescue and animal shelters from the area will be there with adoptable dogs, cats, miniature horses (believe it or not), and more. Everyone is welcome and also, nice dogs on leashes.
Luckypawlooza is a presentation of a company called Magna Construction and they have lots of sponsors that will help make the event a good one, I am sure.
