According to the Food and Drug Administration, there are six ingredients that are widely used in preparation of the Thanksgiving meal that are being recalled and if included, could have you running to the closest bathroom. According to FDA data, there were 1,908 product recalls of "food and/or cosmetics" in 2024. Here's the rundown.
** Organic Whole and Baby Carrots—Grimmway Farms has issued a recall of select organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots that should no longer be in grocery stores but may be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers. ** Cinnamon Powder—According to Forbes.com, the Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for cinnamon powder made by the IHA Beverage company over concerns about elevated lead levels. This recall continues a problem that saw a dozen other brands recalled earlier this year and more than 50 kids sickened in 2023 by contaminated cinnamon applesauce pouches.
** Celery - If you purchased a Whole Foods Market 15 oz bag of Organic Carrots & Celery, hop back in the car and head over to Shopright, Big Y, or Stop & Shop to repurchase your celery. These products are a possible health risk due to potential E.coli contamination.

According to the recall, "consumers should return the product to the store for a full refund or discard it," and "no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this coating mix."
