I believe that to do a great radio show, you need to do two things that are not at all compatible. You need to forget that the audience is there and constantly remember that they are. I know this sounds confusing but let me explain.

On one hand, you must immerse yourself in the content, focusing entirely on the conversation without constantly thinking about how the audience is reacting. On the other hand, you have to keep the audience in mind, making sure the direction of the show aligns with their interests and resonates with them. Finding that balance is key, and it can often feel like a tightrope walk.
The listeners of the I-95 Morning Show make this job much easier than your typical audience. Our listeners are tough, smart, loyal, forgiving, and highly engaged. When we hit a nerve—whether it's a positive response or a passionate debate—you can see it instantly because the I-95 Rock Mobile app chat will light up with comments. It’s always clear when something has struck a chord, and we love sharing those moments with our listeners because they’re often witty, intelligent, and humorous.
But the app offers more than just text responses. Listeners can send photos, videos, and even audio clips directly to the show in seconds. Recently, I decided to go through the inbox and compile a small collection of the eclectic and unique content our listeners have sent our way. The creativity and variety in their contributions never cease to amaze me.
