Back in May on 2021, I published a photo gallery called "Downtown Danbury Glows At Night." It was stupid but the pictures of the Hat City were really cool.

One of the areas of the city that I focused on was the American Flag on West Street, that is or was very visible from surrounding blocks. Here is one of the pictures I took for the article.

That is a tall flag right there. I took the photo after walking past the library and I'm facing back towards Main Street. It was one of many photos I took of the flag and from every perspective it towers over the tops of the building and trees.

Being that I live just blocks from this flag, I drive by it and walk by it everyday and recently I noticed something, the flag itself seems to have gotten bigger and the pole looks smaller. Below is a picture I took yesterday (7/20/21).

The flagpole still reaches over the treetops but not as much as it did back in May, right? It's a completely different setup, or am I losing it? If something did happen, it wasn't yesterday, or the day before, or last week. I've been bringing it up repeatedly to my wife and kids who simply ignore me because they don't care.

Do you believe the flag is bigger? Is the pole shorter? Is the flag bigger and the pole is shorter? Is it the same?

I feel like I'm losing it here but, also maybe not, it's possible I am onto something and if so, why the cover up? What do Danbury officials have to hide and why?

I-95 Listeners Show Us Their Stars and Stripes

On Monday I wrote an article that pained me. I had to share the news that the State of CT ranked very poorly in a new patriotism study. The study took a number of factors into account and graded the Constitution State #48 nationally. While I know patriotism is more than flag waving, I needed to rally the Ethan and Lou Show listeners to do just that. We needed an immediate and symbolic answer to this national criticism. I asked the radio show listeners to use the I-95 Rock Mobile App and text us photos of their flag, wherever it may be. They all came through in a big way and these are some of our favorites.

If you wait for the sun to set and head out on the streets, you will notice that Danbury, CT has a glow at night.
