Foster Care Awareness Family Fun Day Coming to Danbury’s Kenosia Park
What can it feel like being in foster care? These are the actual thoughts of a young adult in Connecticut.
Foster care feels like your in a dark tunnel. There is no escape. You are trapped inside this tunnel that eventually branches out to different dark tunnels. No matter how long you run ot try to find a way out you realize you can escape. But one day you find a way out and it gives you hope to help others to find their way out. That's foster care.
You're invited to #Chalkwalk, a free fun family event coming to Kenosia Park in Danbury this Saturday, April 27 from 10 am until 2 pm. May is National Foster Care Month and the purpose of #Chalkwalk is to make families aware of social service supports in the community.
This fun family day event features a free blow-up obstacle course, free face-painting, a strolling balloon artist, and free glitter tattoos and games. Feel free to stroll through the emotional Foster Care Awareness Walk and talk with foster care providers about foster care and adoption. For more info about this enlightening fun day, click on the #Chalkwalk FB page. This foster care awareness event is made possible in part by the Annie C Courtney Foundation.
