Evidently the epidemic is of epic proportions. A forum is set for this week in Connecticut aimed at opioid awareness.

It kills. It addicts. It destroys families. And it clearly isn't going away any time soon.  While all of that is true, I think the more we address the opioid epidemic, new solutions may come to light.

With that said, Connecticut's U.S. Attorney's office and Yale University are teaming up for a forum on opioid awareness.

The forum is scheduled for Friday at Yale Law School. The importance and interest is so high that registration for the event has already filled up and is closed.

The agenda includes:

  • Panel discussions on children who have lost parents to overdoses.
  • Medical perspectives of the epidemic
  • Law enforcement strategies to address the problem.

My prayer always is that we stumble on that "ah - ha" moment that can bring a permanent solution to the grip of addiction.
