According to a press release from the CT State Police, detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a serious arson incident that took place over the weekend in Farmington.

On Monday, October 14, 2024, Troop H in Hartford received a call from Hammonasset Construction regarding some unusual news: multiple construction vehicles parked along I-84 Westbound, near exit 39A, had been severely damaged by fire. When Troopers arrived on the scene, they found several unoccupied commercial vehicles heavily charred, along with others that had been vandalized, all in a secluded construction yard just off the highway. In total, eleven vehicles were affected, with damages estimated to reach a staggering $1,000,000.

Authorities believe that the fire would have been visible from both directions on I-84, particularly near the exit 39A off-ramp and the Route 9 exit 40A ramp connector. This visibility suggests that someone in the area might have seen or heard something unusual during the overnight hours of October 12 to 13, 2024.

I love that they point out it's likely the fire would have been seen from both sides of I-84. That's so Connecticut for thousands of people to just pass by a hideous raging inferno and say nothing. If Sweet Brown was there, we would have excellent witness reports to work from.

P.S. What have we got here? Insurance job, mob Turf war, fire fetishist?

According to our earlier reports, the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company was the first on the scene, followed by Newtown Hook & Ladder 114. The Firefighter battled a massive blaze at the Newtown building that was once McGuire’s Ale House and Hot Shots II. The F.D.’s brought in an attack line, to fight against the flames and the roof came down.

The dramatic day became big news with locals sharing pictures and videos all over social media. While the Fire Departments were able to finish off the flames, the building was destroyed.
