Did you know that American actor Dylan McDermott is from Waterbury, Connecticut? He graduated from Holy Cross High School on Oronoke Road in Waterbury - Class of 1979. He's coming back to the Brass City later this month too.

I am a Holy Cross HS grad also, but McDermott was long gone by the time I got there. You and I have an opportunity to be in his presence though, I just found out through a Holy Cross alumni e-mail that McDermott is returning to Waterbury on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Holy Cross has a Hall of Fame that they've dubbed 'The Crusader Hall of Honor', and Dylan McDermott, Class of 79, will be inducted during the ceremony that evening. Good for you Dylan. McDermott will be there in-person to accept the honor, according to the mail that I received from HCHS. McDermott is the main attraction, but I hope you give fellow honorees Jim Harris, Joe Corbo, Mike Cunningham, Lisa Stump, Anthony Temporale, and the 06-07 HCHS girl's Varsity basketball team thunderous rounds of applause too. Jim Harris may not have starred on The Practice, but he inspired thousands of students to give it their all in athletics.

Tickets for the event, which will be held at the school, are on sale now. They cost $85 a person, click HERE for more info.

If you can't come up with the $$$ for a ticket, just take a ride into downtown Waterbury for a photo op - Dylan McDermott Boulevard is Cole Street, and you can find the sign you see above at the intersection of Cole and Scovill Streets.
