The Flu Season has hit hard in Danbury, CT.

According to a press release from City officials, the City of Danbury Lab has seen 181 confirmed Flu cases since December 1, 2022. It appears Danbury may be one of the hot spots contributing to a massive spike in Flu cases in CT. The Nutmeg State has had 12,000 positive cases in just the first week of December.

City Officials are urging residents to wash their hands and be on the lookout for Flu Symptoms like; chills, fever, congestion and sore throat. The press release goes on to state the following:

"The City of Danbury Department of Health & Human Services requests that people do not report to the Emergency Department for routine flu testing. The Emergency Department should be reserved for critical care which includes a health concern that may require immediate attention. For all routine testing, contact a primary care physician. Residents can receive their flu vaccine from their health care provider, a retail pharmacy, the Danbury Health Department, or by visiting www.vaccines.gov.

Call the Danbury Health Department at (203)797-4625 to schedule an appointment to receive the Flu vaccine. The Health Department reminds residents, that while the Flu numbers are concerning, people should still be testing for COVID-19 and receiving vaccinations if they choose.

COVID-19 vaccines are available at 118 Memorial Drive, Monday - Friday 1:00PM - 7:00PM, Saturday 9:00AM - 3:00PM, and Sunday 10:00AM - 4:00PM. COVID-19 testing is available at 118 Memorial Drive Monday and Wednesday 3:00PM-6:00PM, and Saturday.
