Vice Chairman Joe Dasilva Jr. made the motion for endorsement and the release states that it was met "with a resounding chorus of seconds." Dasilva Jr. had this to say of the meeting and Alves:

“After hearing about the progress made and the work done by the Alves for Danbury team during the mayoral campaign update part of our agenda, it made perfect sense to move forward with a motion for an early endorsement. Roberto Alves has the energy and courage that makes a true leader. He is committed to our community, all our residents and, especially, our kids. Roberto understands the history of Danbury and has a vision for its future. I am proud to have been one of Roberto’s early supporters and I cannot wait to vote for him in November.”

Committee member Glenda Armstrong offered this:

“I spotted Roberto in the back of the DDTC meetings for month after month, years ago, after meeting him, I knew he had something special to offer us and he’s proven to be a valuable member of the community…that values serves to benefit all of us as the next Mayor of Danbury.”

Democratic municipal candidate nominations are scheduled for Tuesday July 20, 2021.
