Danbury Recognizes Ability Beyond for Its Impact on the Community
According to a release from the City of Danbury, one of the organizations making a real difference in the Hat City was recently celebrated in a big way.

Ability Beyond continues to be one of those local groups that quietly changes lives every single day. Their mission centers around helping individuals with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives, while also creating a stronger and more connected community here in Danbury and beyond.
Mayor Roberto Alves and his wife, Robyn, recently attended the organization’s Nights with Neighbors Gala, an event that brought together supporters, donors, and community leaders who believe in the work Ability Beyond is doing. It was a night focused on generosity, service, and recognizing the people who help keep that mission moving forward.

During the gala, Mayor Alves accepted the Robert S. Young Humanitarian Award on behalf of the City of Danbury. City officials said the honor reflects what can happen when a community works together to support meaningful causes and invest in neighbors who need opportunities, resources, and support.
The city also took time to recognize Jane Davis, President and CEO of Ability Beyond, praising her leadership and continued partnership with Danbury. Running an organization like that takes vision, patience, and a serious commitment to helping others, so that recognition feels well deserved.
Danbury officials also thanked many of the generous supporters who continue to contribute to the cause, including George Mulvaney and Mark and Jane Nielsen, along with the many others who help behind the scenes every day.
This is the kind of story I always like seeing. It’s easy to get buried in negative headlines, but there are people in Danbury showing up, giving back, and helping improve lives in real ways.
Ability Beyond has become a true source of hope in the city, and Danbury made it clear they’re proud to stand beside them. When local government, nonprofits, and residents all pull in the same direction, good things happen.
