1. Jeremy Swamp Road, Southbury - Jeremy Swamp Road is listed among the “10 Most Haunted Roads in the U.S.” by Travel & Leisure. According to urban legend, drivers in vehicles that get stuck here tend to disappear before their tow truck arrives, the result of being ambushed by the “Melon Heads.” I implore you to read the article by the New England Historical Society. I suspect that when given a choice, you will never drive Jeremy Swamp Road in Southbury when it's dark.
2. Saw Mill City Road in Shelton. According to the website onlyinyourstate.com, the most haunted road in the state is indeed Saw Mill City Road, with stories of shadowy figures, orbs, and Melon Heads lurking near Means Brook Reservoir, among other locations. Melon Heads are described as small humanoid creatures with oversized heads, said to lurk in the forest. Shadowy figures and unexplained orbs are also reported.

3. Green Lady Road, Burlington - Near the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery, locals have reported seeing the ghostly “Green Lady” for decades. The spirit is said to be a woman named Elisabeth Palmiter, who drowned tragically in the 19th century and still roams the fog.
4. Route 44, Across Connecticut - According to Hearst CT Media, the long stretch of Route 44 has its share of paranormal tales, including hitchhiking ghosts and unexplained lights. With so much history along its route, it’s no wonder it’s become a magnet for eerie encounters.
5. Whirlwind Hill Road, Wallingford - cthauntedhouses.com drivers tell of a soaking-wet woman who suddenly appears on the roadside, believed to be the ghost of someone who drowned. She vanishes as quickly as she arrives.
