Connecticut Near Bottom of Most Patriotic States in America 2024

As we approach Independence Day, a new study has just been released naming the Most Patriotic States in America for 2024. I took a look through, and Connecticut is not far away from being one of the least patriotic states in all of the US.

According to the recently published Most Patriotic States in America (2024) on Wallethub.com, Connecticut is neighbors with three of the top 15 most patriotic states in all of the US for 2024, Maine landed in the Top 5 at #4, New Hampshire came in the Top 10 at #7, and Vermont was named as the 13th Most Patriotic State this year. Connecticut? #42.

In order to rank Patriotic States in the US, Wallethub.com's experts compared the 50 states across two key dimensions: Military Engagement, and Civilian Engagement. Those two dimensions were then evaluated using 13 relevant metrics, for example: Average military enlistees per 1,000 civilians between 2015-2020, Veterans per 1,000 civilian adults, and Active-Duty Military Personnel per 100,000 civilian adults. Also factors: Percentage of adults who voted in the 2020 Presidential election and primary, the percentage of the state's population who volunteer their time to civic organizations, Trial & Grand Jury participation, and volunteer hours per resident.

Wallethub.com's rank for Connecticut's Military Engagement landed us at #43 out of 50, but ranked Connecticut at #30 out of 50 in Civic Engagement.

Three of our neighbors did even worse, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York came in at #'s 47,48, and 49, almost winning the title of least patriotic. You were so close New York, maybe next year, but for 2024 you were beaten by #50 - Arkansas.
