These early mornings really make me think snow is right around the corner. When I wake up in the morning, it's around 23 degrees and man is that winter chill cold. I feel like we went from warm weather to cold pretty instantly. I can't really complain because this is the type of weather we're supposed to have this time of year, but man did it come at us quick.

It looks like Connecticut will see its first bit of snow this week. According to the National Weather Service, a storm moving in from the Midwest region can bring a bit of snow to our state. It looks like it can start Wednesday night and carry over into Thursday morning.

The forecast says that there should be snow before 1 AM Wednesday night and then rain and snow. Leading into Thursday morning says rain and snow showers before 10 AM with a chance of rain between 10 AM and 1 PM and then a chance of snow showers after 1.

While our part of the state looks like it will only get less than an inch of snow, it is said that the northern part of our state can see higher accumulations. Less than an inch of snow is obviously nothing crazy, but I think it's a good way to start the year. We get a little taste of snow, nothing crazy. and it officially starts the season.

I talk about this regularly, but winter in Connecticut is nothing like it used to be. I remember getting so many snow days when I was in school due to the amount of storms we got throughout the winter. Now, I feel like we get 1 significant snow storm and that's pretty much it. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'm not really sure. I don't mind snow as long as it's not inconvenient. If you want to give us a dusting to make the trees look pretty, go right ahead. But I definitely don't love snow storms where we're told to stay off the roads and have to shovel a few feet.

Are we in for a big snow storm this year? Time will tell.
