Lowest Gas Prices in the Greater-Danbury Area – March 2026

According to a March 12th statement from AAA, spring break season is officially hitting wallets at the gas pump, with the national average for regular gas spiking by nearly 35 cents in just one week. Prices are now hovering around what drivers were dealing with back in spring 2024, and it’s not exactly a coincidence. As the weather warms up, more people are getting back on the road, and that seasonal jump in demand is pushing prices higher.

On top of that, the cost of crude oil has been bouncing above $100 a barrel in recent days, which is a major factor in what you’re paying to fill up. In an effort to take a little pressure off, the U.S. is planning to release 172 million barrels of oil from its strategic reserves over the next four months. Gas prices in Connecticut have gotten so bad that the governor is now considering suspending the gas tax to give drivers a little relief.
