Connecticut Cracks the Top 10 as One of the Happiest States in the Nation
Back in March, I wrote an article titled, 'Greater Danbury Speaks Out About Best Advice to Give Someone Moving to Connecticut.' Before I wrote the article, I asked the question on my FB Page, "What is the one piece of advice you'd give to someone moving to Connecticut?" Of the 250 comments I received, 70% stated, "Don't move here!"
Recently, WalletHub conducted an in-depth study to determine which states are the 'Happiest States in the U.S.,' and Connecticut ranked #6. How could that possibly be? I thought most Connecticut residents had nothing but bad things to say about the state.
To determine the happiest states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across three key metrics: 1) Emotional & Physical Well-Being, 2) Work Environment, and 3) Community & Environment.
The methodology was conducted by six individuals with large brains who were college professors with Ph. D.s, so I figured they had some street cred. As I attempted to figure it out, I saw the two words "relative metrics." I checked out!
The top six happiest states were Utah, Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The six least happiest states were Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana; dead last was West Virginia.
To illustrate the sheer beauty of Connecticut, I've chosen 27 photos from the thousands I've taken around CT and turned them into a slideshow accompanied by Louie Armstrong's' What a Wonderful World.' Enjoy!
