You can lend support in the aftermath of this tragedy. Here's how.

On Saturday February 20th, a category five cyclone made landfall on Fiji, leaving devastation across much of the island nation, 80 percent of which now has no electricity. At this point, Cyclone Winston is being blamed for at least 20 deaths. AmeriCares.org has sent in an emergency response team. You can follow the story at AmeriCares.org

One of the greatest things about us, as people, is our ability to look beyond our borders, and reach out to those in need. To me, it is the cornerstone of the American way. In Connecticut, the AmeriCares organization is based in Stamford, and you can contact them directly if you are interested in helping the survivors of Cyclone Winston. For more info on donating, you can click on AmeriCares Foundation.
