A Connecticut Main Street Was Named One of the Best in the Country
Connecticut isn't a very touristy state, so when it gets grouped with some well-known places, I get excited. If you've read some of my articles, you know that traveling is a huge passion of mine. I'm always looking at different articles to see where the best places are throughout the states, what's unique, where should be my next trip, etc.
I came across an article from Country Living talking about the best Main Streets throughout the country. It got my attention because there are main streets pretty much everywhere. A lot of touristy places have so many things on their Main Street strip. As I was scrolling through the article, I was pleasantly surprised to see Connecticut on that list.
If you had to guess one place, where would you guess? If Mystic was your answer, you are correct. Main Street in Mystic was listed as one of the best Main Streets in the country. The article highlighted the famous Mystic Pizza as well as the Seaport and the Aquarium. They also went on to say that Mystic's Main Street is classic with a metal shop and a fudge shop. Mystic does get a lot of love, but understandably so, since it's what draws some people in.
One of our neighbors not too far away also sat on this list. East Main Street in Beacon, New York is considered another one of the best main streets. The article highlights Dia Beacon and Breakneck Ridge, and talks about how Beacon's downtown is filled with galleries, great food and a lovely waterfall.
Honestly, there are so many great places on this list. If you're ever visiting a state and need some ideas, this is a good place to reference. I love that our state is within so many great places that are being highlighted around the country.
Here's a sneak peak of a walk through Mystic.
