The numbers are in from the US Census Bureau and the city in Connecticut that grew the most over the last year was Danbury.

According to Business Insider, population estimates were just released by the US Census Bureau and Danbury grew the most from July 1, 2014 through July 1, 2015 going from 83,891 to 84,657 which is a .9% bump. The rest of the top five Connecticut cities with the largest spurt in population were:

1. Danbury - +.9%                                                                                                              2. Stamford - +.5%                                                                                                            3. Milford - +.4%                                                                                                                4. Norwalk - +.4%                                                                                                              5. New Haven - +.1%

The Connecticut cities that decreased in population were:

1. Meriden -.5%                                                                                                                 2. West Haven -.5%                                                                                                           3. Waterbury - .4%                                                                                                             4. Hartford - .4%                                                                                                               5. Bridgeport - .2%

The two fastest growing cities in the United States are both in Texas. Georgetown, Texas was up 7.8% and New Braunfels, Texas was up 6.6% in population growth.

The two cities that have lost the most population in 2014-2015 are Columbus, Georgia, down 1.5% and Provo, Utah down 1.3%.

In the "Most Expensive Cities to Raise Two Children" category, Danbury came in 10th in the nation according to MarketWatch.com. The Stamford/Norwalk area came in 5th and Washington D.C. was #1.
