The Jets are 0-7, the Giants are 1-6. This week the Giants will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) and the Jets will play the Kansas City Chiefs (6-1). They will both lose their respective contests, these teams are historically bad.

The question is not about this week, next or next year but the future. Who will be the better team in three years?

The Giants have a coach in Joe Judge that passes the eye test, they have a quarterback with serious physical gifts and they have Saquon Barkley. The talent at quarterback, running back and at the Head Coach are there but because of terrible organizational decisions that came prior to their arrival, it's difficult to see results.

The Giants are hamstrung by their GM Dave Gettleman and an offensive line that has been bad for almost a decade now but fans and "talking-heads" can see hope.

For the Jets, it's all about draft status and parting ways. Most people agree that Adam Gase will be put out of his misery as a Head Coach at the end of this season, the job status of GM Joe Douglas looks about 50/50 and their draft status will definitely be high. Likely, the Jets will end up with the first pick in the NFL draft.

Let's do what we always do with sports and project things are not reality. Let's make things, even on paper. Let's say the Giants get a new GM who is better than Gettleman, improve the offensive line. have Jones at QB and Barkley at RB.

Now let's say the Jets get the 1st pick in the draft, get Trevor Lawrence, fire Gase and use all the equity they've collected from trading players to gather skill position players. If all of that comes to fruition, who will have the better team in three years?
