Choose or loose. It's time to tell us which 'Illusion' you use.

On this week back in 1991 Guns N' Roses released two albums on one day: 'Use Your Illusion I' and 'Use Your Illusion II'. A total of 4.2 million copies of the albums were simultaneously released to retail outlets, the largest ship out in pop history in the US. It would turn out to be the band's final moment in the sun before the remaining original members would begin to splinter apart in the mid 90s before Axl Rose revamped the group with a whole new lineup.

Ever since the release of both albums back on September 17th, 1991 GNR fans have debated over whether 'I' is better than 'II' or vice versa. As far as sales it was 'II' that had the slight edge in the opening week with 770,000 copies sold while 'I' sold 685,000. They've both been certified 7x platinum since.

For me it's gotta be 'Use Your Illusion II'. While 'I' has "Live and Let Die", "Don't Cry" and the now timeless classic "November Rain", it's the second 'Illusion' that is packed with great songs: "Civil War", "Yesterdays", "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", "Pretty Tied Up", "Locomotive", "Estranged" and "You Could Be Mine" are songs I still listen to regularly.
