What Happened to the Segway?

The Segway Human Transport was everywhere...You memba dat? When they were advertised constantly and getting publicity from media outlets, they told us this is how we would all travel in the future. Well, if you are paying attention, you know the future is here and I have not seen one in a long time.

You will notice if you clicked the above link that the company is still around and they have some new products but I've not heard hide nor hare of these "sumbitches" in quite awhile. Why is that? Why did they not catch on?

I mean it looked futuristic and right there, you got a lot of people's attention and it was something we'd never seen before which gets people throwing cash around. Was it maybe too different? Maybe it was a product that skipped a few rungs on the evolutionary ladder.

We all wanna be first with the "hot, new thing" but if something looks a little weird we all the sudden take a wait and see approach. I was ready for a revolution where I knew modes of transport to complain about but it never came.

I will tell you this much, I once saw a police officer on one and I laughed for like 40 minutes and felt bad for him with his little helmet on. Maybe that has something to do with it?
