Camping for Cans 2023: Brookfield's Community Spirit in Action

Each year the crew from I-95 (us) sets up camp in a parking lot in Brookfield to raise food and funds for the Hillside Food Outreach.

I believe this was our 15th C.F.C and 2023 did not disappoint. We collected tons of food and a pile of cash to help those in need in our local community. It was a team effort by I-95, Hillside and our sponsors that made this all possible. Thank you to:

I think we legit had fun this year. It felt lighter than previous years. Thank you to everyone who made a donation to Hillside Food Outreach. Please keep Hillside in your thoughts all year round. It's difficult to keep the pantry stocked in July so try and remember them when you are feeling charitable.

Their Mission:
To deliver high-quality, nutritious food that will enable low-income, chronically ill, disabled and those who are otherwise unable to access a traditional food pantry, to achieve a better quality of life. To positively impact the health and wellness of the individual and strengthen the overall community through access, education and caring hearts.

Their Goals:

To provide access to high quality, nutrient-dense food, to low income families and individuals who by various circumstance are unable to access local food pantries
To utilize our delivery-only model to distribute food efficiently and consistently
To participate in better health outcomes for individuals suffering from chronic illness where diet and nutrition play a key role in health management
To encourage the community through outreach, education and engagement to bring about a sustainable solution
To offer hope to Westchester, Putnam and Fairfield families and individuals by alleviating some of the stress caused by food insecurity

Camping for Cans 2022

Camping for Cans is an annual event thrown by I-95 to collect cash and non-perishable food items to benefit the Hillside Foot Outreach. Hillside feeds those in-need, in the Greater-Danbury area. Each year we gather in a Brookfield parking lot and have fun in the name of the Greater good. The 2022 CFC was as good a year as we've ever had, take a look.

Camping for Cans 2021 Photo Album

Camping for Cans is our annual food/cash drive to benefit the Hillside Food Outreach. Hillside is an organization that feeds those in need all throughout the Greater-Danbury area. For years, I-95 has teamed up with them to get the word out about the needs of our neighbors in the area. 2021 was a smash hit and we raised thousands of dollars and truck loads of food with Hillside and our corporate sponsors. These were some of the many faces that joined us over the weekend (11/19-11/21).
