Waterford Man Arrested After Dramatic Pursuit On I-395
Things got a little wild on I-395 in Connecticut earlier this week.
According to Connecticut State Police, a 23-year-old Waterford man was arrested following a pursuit that police say stemmed from a firearm-related incident involving New London Police.

Police say the suspect, identified as Clayton Marley Cyr, was allegedly driving a black Ford Fusion that had reportedly been involved in a police pursuit with New London officers. Troopers later spotted the vehicle passing the Troop E barracks on I-395 northbound.
That’s when the situation reportedly escalated.
State police say troopers began following the vehicle and eventually deployed stop sticks, which reportedly disabled the car. Police say the driver allegedly attempted to continue fleeing before pulling onto the right shoulder because the vehicle was no longer operating properly.

Troopers then conducted what police describe as a felony stop and detained everyone inside the vehicle.
After speaking with those involved, police say they determined Cyr was allegedly the driver and he was placed under arrest.
According to police, Cyr is now facing several charges, including:
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Speeding over 70 mph
Failure to drive in the proper lane
Police say Cyr was issued a $50,000 cash or surety bond, which he was reportedly unable to post. As a result, he was transferred to Corrigan Correctional Center.
He was scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court the following morning.
