Vince Neil’s Arena Football Team Taken Over by League
The Las Vegas Outlaws, the football team owned by Vince Neil, has been taken over by the Arena Football League. According to Las Vegas TV station KTNV, the AFL has taken control of operations for the team.
The report notes that the league took over the Outlaws from the Motley Crue singer to “solidify its financial condition and create a platform for growth.” The team's ownership group will remain, however.
You can watch video of the station's coverage above.
Neil bought the Outlaws last year, promising the "hottest, sexiest" cheerleaders the league ever saw. The team kicked off its first season back in March with a loss. They currently have a 5-9 record with four games remaining on this season's schedule.
The Outlaws aren't the only Arena Football team that the league seized control of this week. The New Orleans VooDoo's operations were also taken over by the AFL. Meanwhile, the L.A. Kiss, which is owned in part by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, still have guys with long hair calling the shots. That team's record, however, stands at a dismal 3-11 for the season.
So far, Neil hasn't commented on the league's move.
