An East Hartford man is in some serious trouble after State Police finally tracked him down for a wild incident that happened way back in July.

According to Connecticut State Police, the whole thing started on July 18, 2025, when a White Infiniti took off during an attempted traffic stop on Talcottville Road (Route 83) in Vernon. Troopers say the driver didn’t just speed away — he was flying down the road and putting a ton of other drivers at risk in the process.

After months of investigating — with help from Vernon Police — State Police identified the suspected driver as 22-year-old Erick Resto of East Hartford. A warrant was issued, and on December 1, 2025, Resto decided to turn himself in at Troop C.

He was arrested without any issues and charged with a laundry list of violations. Resto was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on December 16, 2025.

Charges:

  • Failure to Display Plates
  • Reckless Driving
  • Engaging Police in Pursuit
  • Failure to Keep Right
  • Illegal Tint
  • Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree

I love that he allegedly checked every box on the “don’t do this while driving” list. And just when you think the charges couldn’t pile up any higher, they hit him with the illegal tint. That one feels like pure insult to injury — because now, on top of everything else, he’s stuck scraping that stuff off his windows. If you’ve ever tried to remove tint in the middle of December, when it’s twelve degrees and your fingers stop working, you know that’s its own punishment.

Instead of packing up and hauling down to America’s filthiest swamp, maybe consider these foreign lands instead. I’ve identified five affordable and beautiful countries where your dollar can really go far.

My research included, but was not limited to, sources like Forbes, MSN, and Expatsi. Here are five countries you might want to bring up at your next family meeting.
