Unique Connecticut Seafood Spot Named Best Seafood Restaurant in CT
When there is a lot of something in your state, it's definitely an honor when you get crowned the title for being number 1. Since we are located right near water, we are bound to have good seafood restaurants around. With the competition of that and still earning the number 1 spot? You must be good.
Just recently, 24/7 Tempo put out a list of the Best Seafood Restaurants in Every State and the Connecticut restaurant that made the list seems to be a common contender on some of these "top" lists. The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood landed as Connecticut's best seafood restaurant.
The publication put on a blurb about the restaurant saying, "the bustling atmosphere is welcoming to tourists and locals alike, and the large menu has something for everyone including huge raw bar platters, salmon and tuna tartare, chowders and bisques, steamers, crab cakes, popcorn shrimp, smoked fish dips, steamed lobsters, and other decadent entrees."
I decided to take a look into the restaurant to see what was unique about it. They are both a Seafood Market and a restaurant. According to their website, the seafood market resides in a fishing shack that was the oldest operating lobster co-op on all of Long Island Sound. The current owners are the ones that originally purchased the building. It was originally just a seafood market until they purchased the diner next door and turned it into a restaurant.
The website shows a list of awards they have won naming them the best seafood restaurant, so it's no surprise that they've landed on another list. Now unlike most seafood restaurants, this one stays open year-round. They pride themselves on stellar service and all of their google reviews reflect that.
They seemed to be a loved restaurant all around. The views, the food, the service, they got it all. You are able to eat right on the water while enjoying a delicious meal. For all information, you can check out their website here.
