In 2019 there were 5,971 UFO sightings reported in North America up from 3,395 in 2018 according to the National UFO Reporting Center via ABC News. California had the most reported sightings followed by Washington and Florida. Peter Davenport is the head of the National UFO Reporting Center and had this to say on the spike:

One of the mysteries of ufology is there is a fluctuation in the number of reports over the years, some years it’s been low, but it’s gotten higher recently.

In other UFO News, the Navy says it has yet another video from the famous USS Nimitz encounter that it has not released and it's rumored to be ten minutes long. The Nimitz incident/sightings were by Navy pilots off the coast of California in 2004 and were released to the public in 2013.

The Navy was forced to confirm there is another tape while responding to a Freedom of Information request from UFO researcher Christian Lambright. According to Daily Star, Christian's request read:

This request is to include all releasable portions of records and reports related to investigation of the detection of and encounter(s) with Anomalous Aerial Vehicles (AAVs) by personnel involved with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG) operations off the western coast of the United States during the period of approximately 10-16 November, 2004.

The Navy responded to his request on December 9 2019, saying:

A review of these materials indicates that are currently and appropriate Marked and Classified TOP SECRET under Executive Order 13526, and the Original Classification Authority has determined that the release of these materials would cause exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States.

Keep looking up, keep asking questions and keep submitting Freedom of Information requests. It's up to all of us to get the answers we know our Government has. Truth disclosure is closer than it's ever been.
