Three Must-try Cheeseburgers For National Cheeseburger Day
Happy National Cheeseburger Day 2025, before you go to a national chain to plunk down $14 on one 1/4 pound patty here are three of the best cheeseburgers I've recently eaten around here.

Litchfield County may not have anywhere near the amount of cheeseburger peddlers that the rest of the state does, but damn there are burger Masters lurking close by. My first thought when I see a food truck set up is I'll bet they have chicken, fried dough, or a Tex-Mex plate, but there's a food truck in Torrington that has captured my heart. Flip 'n' Grill has been set up in the parking lot of Carvel on S. Main Street for the past couple of years, and "Mr. Handsome' makes a bourbon, mushroom cheeseburger that keeps me coming back for more. They're made to order, and the hand-cut fries that go along with this? Also delicious. Highly recommended, and he makes fried dough to boot.
G's Burgers in Watertown and Naugatuck (Watertown location above) is my second pick for best cheeseburger and fry combo made locally. I've eaten their burgers hundreds of times over the years, and despite a couple of inconsistencies, they remain my go-to in the greater Waterbury area.
My third pick is a recent discovery - Enclave Grille in Burlington. It's located in the Burlington Commons shopping center along Rt. 4, and their Breakfast Burg is my new favorite. A nice fat patty topped with an egg, bacon, avocado, and a slice of cheddar was heavenly.
