Three of 2025’s Top 10 Beaches are Within Hours of Connecticut

According to 'Dr. Beach' Stephen Leatherman, three of his Top 10 Beaches in America for 2025 are within a hop, skiff, ferry ride, or quick ride along I95 away from Connecticut.

Dr. Beach has proclaimed Cooper's Beach in Southampton, New York as America's Best Beach for 2025. Leatherman loves Cooper Beach's white quartz sand, warmer waters, and huge sand dunes. It's expensive to park there, but it's worth it for us in Connecticut.

Dr. Beach has also named Main Beach in East Hampton, New York as the #5 Best Beach for 2025, proclaiming it as a great beach for seeing wealthy stars, and those same big dunes and white sandy beach. For both Long Island beaches, Leatherman discourages driving your own vehicle in, parking is expensive, but it's the easiest way for us from Connecticut. Driving round trip to either would be a 2-hour ride from Fairfield County, but a fun way to get to two of the best beaches is the Bridgeport - Port Jefferson Ferry. 2 1/2 hours is a little easier if you can take a ride on a huge boat for a portion of the trip.

One more of Dr. Beach's Top 10 Beaches for 2025 is also right here in New England, at #10 it's Coast Guard Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Despite it's chilly water and Great White Sharks, it's gorgeous, a National Treasure. It would take a three hour ride from the Greater Hartford area to get to the Cape Cod National Seashore and Coast Guard Beach.

Beaches in Florida, Hawaii, and South Carolina rounded out the Top 10.
