Three Connecticut Hidden Gems Named Most Romantic Restaurants for Valentine’s Day
It's about that time. It's going to be a pretty busy week for the restaurant world and as a server herself, pray for us. Valentine's Day is just around the corner and reservations are starting to fill up at restaurants. If you're still thinking about somewhere to go, maybe this new study will help you.
Zinfandel Grille surveyed over 3,000 people to come up with the nation's most enchanting restaurants and I was pleased to see a few Connecticut restaurants on that list. They described the overall list as restaurants where "intimate moments unfold in unexpected venues, from hidden basement bars to historic home-turned-dining destinations."

The first Connecticut restaurant to take the list was at number 44 and it was Millwright's Restaurant and Tavern located at 77 West Street in Simsbury. There is a current pop-up on their website regarding Valentine's Day. They are now accepting reservations and it will be a 4 Course Prix Fixe menu from February 12 - February 16. On Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, it will cost $115 per person and on Friday and Saturday, it will cost $120 per person. The menu is available on their website to see. There is also multiple different parts of the restaurant you are able to reserve - the dining room, the bridge or the tavern.
Coming in next was Çka ka Qëllu located at 15 Clark Street in Stamford. According to their website, they are a restaurant that offers a modern selection of popular dishes and desserts inspired by the rich flavors of Mediterranean cuisine, highlighting the best of Albanian and Kosovan traditions. There are only 3 locations - the Bronx, New York City and Stamford. You are able to reserve a table online and it looks like there are a few available spots still for Valentine's Day.
Lastly, Arethusa al Tavolo located at 828 Bantam Road in Bantam came in at number 92 on the list. They are known for their local, seasonal and inspired American cuisine. Their menu is subject to change daily but as of right now, it looks amazing as does their cocktail selection. You are able to make a reservation directly on their website.
It's nice to see some unique restaurants in Connecticut get highlighted. Some of these hidden gem restaurants that don't always get the spotlight are some of the best ones. I'll definitely be checking them out at some point.
P.S. - Be nice to your servers this week / weekend. We appreciate it :)
